Maxwell didn't go to the 'max' for his fans
An awesome tandem, Chrisette Michelle and The Wiz. Chrisette Michelle, with an incredible voice and a great sense of humor, should be a tremendous star for years to come. The Wiz, the real deal on stage, took the stage for about 75 minutes. While being 'stampeded' by women can be an issue, I can live with that because he's such an incredible performer. My MAIN COMPLAINT was one thing - a 45 minute gap between the end of Chrisette's performance and The Wiz taking the stage. I find that to be unacceptable. An 'old school' act wouldn't let that happen. There'd be a local band or a comedian to fill in the space at the beginning of the show, and then have Chrisette Michelle come out before The Wiz. The Wiz said he'd been gone for a while, and that part of the show DEFINITELY showed it. It's inexcusable. I have a friend that went to the Essence Music Festival, and he took the stage an hour after Anita Baker got off of it. This OBVIOUSLY proves that he has no regard for his fans because he didn't apologize to us in EITHER instance. While he's a hell of a performer, this issue takes away from an otherwise pleasant experience. I go to a lot of concerts where I travel. I drove 3 hours each way from NYC to Albany, and I got 45 minutes of continuous 'dead air'.
